Heading to Uganda!

The flights are booked for our vision trip! We will be leaving on November 6 and staying 2 weeks in UGANDA. Our daughter Chloe is coming with us! We are super excited for her because it is her 'dream' to go to Africa to help orphans. In fact if you ask her what she wants to be, its a missionary. We are not sure of what her expectations are, so we thought it would be good to see the reality of what it is like there and she would be the one to have the hardest time here with us gone. She may be staying with other members of the team and their children during some of the time that Chris and I are doing things. Our other kids are fine with her going.....reason being they don't have to get shots yet! Chloe will be getting her 6 shots this monday and she does NOT like shots(thats an understatement!) ...so pray for strength for her!

HOUSE.......Chris stuck the sign out a Saturday in JUNE 'to test the waters' and it sold in 4 days.....for higher than our asking price. A super sweet couple with 3 children; they have till Dec. to sell their home, which we are ok with because we aren't in a hurry to move yet! God is Good.

Encouragement has come at just when I have needed it. There are times when I wonder if we are crazy...which I am sure some of you think we are! But it is in these times of doubt that I have prayed for God to sent encouragement and confirmation and He is faithful; in His word and through the encouragement of others. I was reminded of Noah....seriously think how crazy people must have thought he was; a hundred years to build an ark? He kept on moving forward in faith....despite the doubts...despite the criticism....despite exhaustion.....persevering... and in the end He experienced the true blessing of following. We have the same God helping us follow Him today that Noah had then! We can do HARD things...just not in our own strength. In HIS strength I CAN go to a foreign land, sell my home, home school my kids, leave precious family and dear friends, live simply, have extra love for the lost, orphan, poor in Uganda.

PRAY please that God will confirm to Chris and I both during this trip to Uganda that this is where we are supposed to be and for a peace about it that is Undeniably from HIM. Thank you to our dear prayer warriors out there......We have seen God work through YOU!

Much Love, Michelle

WOW! I'm just catching up on your blog and I'm so excited for your family! My good friend moved to Kampala and taught there for a year, worked with orphans...she's back now but her heart is there. I will be praying for you, and that you will follow God's leading for your lives.
