My finally an update title probably caught your eye! Sooooo as far as our adoption process, there is nothing yet to update on, Sorry!!, other than we need to do a homestudy update which just came in the mail this week, because it will be a year in march. I can not believe it has been almost a year since we completed our homestudy! So, this means more paperwork, AND hopefully that we are getting closer to that exciting phone call!! It has really gone by fast for us up to about this point, now we are getting a little anxious, very excited and ready to meet this precious little treasure that God has already picked out for our family. Because our age range for referral is between infant to 3 years old it is hard to picture this little one; is she walking around, talking playing with friends or is she a little baby?? Hopefully we will see soon! Next week we plan to get our shots to travel and because needles are not my friend I will need Chris to hold my hand so I don't pass out. It will all be worth it!
Friends of ours, who we met through this adoption process and are also adopting from Ethiopia are having a benefit evening this Friday. Dan Seaborn will be speaking and there will be music and yummy deserts! The proceeds go to help their with their adoption and also to begin an adoption fund at their church, where he is the minister. I think the adoption fund is an awesome thing, and Lord willing we can start one at our church. We have met so many families that would love to adopt a child, but the money is usually what is holding them back. How awesome for a church family to be able to come along side of these adopting families in a way of financial support to give hope and love of a family to orphans in our world. Way to go you guys! I still need a date because Chris will be gone, but hoping to make this on Friday!
Just a couple more hours with Larry the dog. He has been our addition to our family this week while his owners were on a cruise (lucky them!) I can not believe that I could do TWO dogs and it really went great. I was one when Chris and I got married who said we would never have a dog in the house (they stink) Well, not by my choice we got a 'surprise' puppy and well now I like him and truthfully would miss him.
Well, next time I update, I hope to be updating on our new little one! Our kids are talking and praying about it all the time now. Trayton likes to let me know he will help with changing her diapers!
God is good all the time.
Michelle
