Monday in Uganda

Monday morning we began our day at 5am. We drove to Soroti Rock with many of the team and climbed the rock with little light. I tried not to think about the snakes...even though Tim assured us they were probably not up there! We all made it and the view was amazing. We were able to watch the sun rise over Soroti and the town wake up. We did some devotions up there and were reminded of God watching over us...and the city below. I wish I could post some pictures, but for some reason it won't post them right now?

After this we went with Tim to visit Nakatunya Primary School. Ninety children crammed in a classroom with one teacher and a blackboard. The teachers teach the curriculum and most of the children don't even understand. They will pass with about 25% correct on an exam or less. Our friend Betty that we met was tutored by a member of the team and in grade 4 she didn't even know the alphabet yet and couldn't read 3 letter words....somehow she passed. After this, we were able to visit another school supported by ywam and it was a little better...

We enjoyed dinner tonite with Bobby and Rachael Kolb and their two sons Levi and Nico. It was great. Before dinner we were able to walk around the town of Soroti with Bobby. Earlier Chris had met a neighbor who is the Ugandan Scrabble Champian I am not kidding, he travels all over Uganda!!,. We found him in town playing a scrabble tournament with a bunch of men. It was quite a sight....2 little tables set up in an alley with 8 men sitting around playing scrabble.....and we would never beat them! They used English words..but I think they had the scrabble dictionary memorized and they referred to it often!

I wish I could post more pictures....hopefully tomorrow? Thank you for the prayers...Chloe is feeling much better today!

How amazing to be able to watch the sunrise from atop the mountain. My heart breaks with you for these children. I pray your presence will be a positive influence and God's will for you is revealed in full.

Hey Guys ....
So excited to have Trayton the next 4 days!! I saw him and Kidist on the playground earlier today ... smiling as always :)

My heart swells with the pictures and stories you've shared so far. Praying for guidance, clarity and understanding and that He will show you His plan and will for your lives. You will have absolute peace when you know that you know that you know what you're supposed to do :)

Blessings to you on this journey!
