Settling

Dear friends and family, Greetings from Kaliro! We just wanted to send out a quick blog to let you know we arrived safely to Uganda one week ago today! We were minus four pieces of luggage, so we stayed overnight in Uganda and picked them up at the airport the very next day.

Our family celebrated Thanksgiving with our team, our friends Patrick and Ricky, and Dave and Linda from our home chruch Hillcrest! It was such a wonderful day. The celebration ended with a competetive game of Bunko! Our kids have loved spending time with Adelyn and Janae Luckey, which is a blessing.

We are pretty settled now after moving most of our things in. We have met a few children in the neighborhood who were climbing trees to catch a glimpse of the white family who just moved into town along with their two dogs. It is a joy to see their smiles. We are thankful to be back.

We were blessed by a visit from George and Ruth since arriving back in Uganda. We are thankful for the home we have in Kaliro with lots of extra room for overnite guests!

Tomorrow we have a team meeting at 8am in the Luckey Compound! The kids will be starting school on Thursday or Friday. They are part of ICademy Global; an online school based out of Zeeland, Michigan. We are all excited about it. Please pray for us all as we get back into a schedule here. We would also love prayers over our travel. Our vehicle seems to be in the fix it shop as much as it is out. Today we were in Jinja and needed to get a bunch more things fixed.

Our family would like to thank all of you who made our 7 weeks in the States a time of blessing, encouragement, and healing. Thank you to all our supporters who have continued partnering with us as we transitioned to The Afayo Project, to our church Hillcrest for the way you embraced us, for our family and friends who went out of their way to spend time with us..which wasn't near enough time :) We love you all. We are thankful most of all to our Heavenly Father for His healing, peace, and comfort during our time home and for the confirmation through the joy He has given in our return to Uganda!

We look forward with anticipation in how He will use us here in Kaliro and in the village of Naigobya!

Pictures next time!

Love,
The Fisher Family
