100 Day Update and Prayer

Today is day 17 of our 100 day Campaign!

During the last couple weeks we have had the opportunity to share with several couples and groups.  Each meeting we come away blessed and energized.  Last week a couple that also adopted from Ethiopia invited us to their home to share along with 9 other couples! It was great to share with a group who has a heart for Africa as they have all (one waiting!) adopted from Ethiopia!

This past Sunday eve we were able to share with a group of 53 seniors from our church. Their group is called SMILE (seniors ministering in love and encouragement) This was the first time I have seen Chris get choked up while sharing our story. The Holy Spirit was so evident and the hearts of this group so big and warm.

So, as you can see from our thermometer on the side...we are now up to 27% of our monthly support! We are also at about 10,000 of our start up costs! We are so excited about the people who have partnered with us so far and can't wait to see the rest of the team God puts together!

Prayer

There is a little girl, 6 years old, living in Uganda.  When this little one was just an infant, her village in the  D.R. Congo was attacked by the LRA. She was on her mothers back when her mother was killed. Her father was able to escape the attack, and travel with his sons by foot to a refugee camp in Uganda. He was eventually chosen by lottery to come to the US. Recently he learned that his daughter whom he thought was killed 6 years ago was taken to a convent and is currently living in Uganda! Through some God ordained events, a former college friend of Chris, who has adopted 2 children from the D.R. Congo, has been working hard at getting the paperwork ready for this little one to be joined with her father in the US. Lord willing, Chris will be traveling to Uganda in June, staying there a week, and then bringing little V to Chicago to be reunited with her father. Please pray for the man they are working with at the Embassy to allow this to go through without anymore difficulty. Pray for V as she will really be meeting her father for the first time. Pray for Amy as she continues to work stateside on behalf of this little one.

Love, Michelle
