I Choose Joy

The title from this post came from a Tshirt that Camden (who we are living with) was wearing the other day. He received it from Matt and Lindsey, a couple who lived in 'the basement' before us. This is not just a cool saying to them...but a way of life. They went through a similar journey of living with the Cheek family, raising support, and moving their family of 4 to Africa. However, they were only able to stay 4 months because their daughter became sick and was diagnosed with Leukemia. Chris and I were talking about how difficult it had to have been and still is for them....and yet they choose joy...a joy that is evident each time we see them.

Following the call to move our family to serve in Africa has had its bumps, jumps and hurdles. I was reminded this past week to Choose Joy, to let go, and let God take the reigns. One of the biggest challenges for me in this journey has been giving up control and trusting Him to provide, and direct. This week we have seen Him work....without us and that brings True Joy.

Praising Him for the way God has called Matt and Lindsey, the couple I mentioned above, to take over Shine Inc. and that he shares the same heart for Kingdom Business and Africa. Only God could have orchestrated this....

Praising Him for the opportunity to share our story with many special people this week....including Alumni from Cornerstone University (basketball team) Thanks Mark and Al.........

For the New Supporters that have joined our team! God is at work in peoples hearts...in the way they have sought US out and in their generosity. Our family is so thankful for each and every one of you......... (by Chloe)

For our Champions Team of friends and family who has worked hard to help us meet our 100 Day Campaign Goal! They are now busy planning a Golf Outing/Silent Auction!

For the way our children have adapted and learned to play together where we are now living.

For the excitement on Christians face when he received an email from Kirk Cousins that encouraged him in regards to moving to a new place, and living in Africa. The time it took him to email Christian may not have been long....but the impact it will have on Christian will be long lasting. Thankful for people like this who are willing to 'take the time' to make a difference.

Praise Him.
